Not that long ago, honestly. There's a park with a playground not far from my school back home. We walk through it all the time - sometimes we just stop there to chat for a while.

It is. And I wouldn't say it's some kind of utopia - Shinjuku has issues, just like anywhere else. But I haven't had any, myself, even when I go out really late.
... Yes. There are no places without flaws. I've accepted that. If someone tried to convince me that it's a utopia, I might be obligated to deny them. But I'm glad that nothing happened to you. You should enjoy yourself when you can, especially when you want to let out some pent up energy.

While that's right, I don't think it's normal to keep thinking about those things constantly unless you do have a reason to remember it. Living like that... sounds tiring, if you have to be aware of everything like that at the forefront of your mind.

...I think you're right - that it is exhausting. So is thinking that you could die at any moment. But it's probably like anything else, so you'd get used to it, after a while.
